Introduction

Destination Access Navigation is a crucial aspect of any software-based application. It is essential to provide users with the ability to easily navigate to various destinations within the application. This ensures that users can easily access the information and tools they need to complete their tasks efficiently. In this document, we will explore various destinations that a user can navigate to within the application and the features they offer.

Discovery

Discovery is an area of the Fabric application that allows users to easily navigate the catalog of available items. Users can search for specific items or browse through various categories to find what they need. Once they have found an item they are interested in, they can access detailed information about it by clicking on it.

This feature is essential for users who need to quickly find records within the Fabric catalog.

Collections

Collections are a vital aspect of Fabric's functionality. They contain records that are grouped based on different business rules, such as intellectual property (e.g. Franchises) or editorial decissions (e.g. “Christmas Collection”). Users can navigate the information and records pertaining to collections from this area of the application.

Localisations

The Localisations destinations gives access to an area of the Fabric application that is typically used for managing automated localisation workflows via an integration with the Client's Media Asset Management system. This feature provides users with the necessary visibility of localisation workflows and allows them to track the progress of their projects. With this feature, users can quickly and easily manage localisation workflows without the need for manual intervention, streamlining the process and ensuring that projects are completed on time and within budget.

Exports

Export is a destination within the Fabric application that allows users to create groups of records and then export the data into a CSV file. These preconfigured exports will exist in the catalog and are available to other users as well. Users might want to leverage exports from the Fabric product to quickly and easily generate reports and analyse data. By creating preconfigured exports, users can save time and ensure that data is being exported in a consistent format, making it easier to analyse and share with others. This feature is particularly useful for users who need to generate regular reports or perform data analysis on large amounts of data.

Reporting AKA Insights & Explore

Reporting is a destination in the Fabric application that allows users with the relevant permissions to access their Company's data via Google's Looker engine. Looker is a powerful business intelligence and data analytics platform that allows users to easily create and share data visualisations, reports, and dashboards. With Looker, users can quickly and easily explore their data, gain insights, and make data-driven decisions. The Reporting destination in Fabric provides users with the necessary tools to access and analyse their data in a secure and user-friendly environment.

Account

The Account destination in the Fabric application allows users to manage some basic account settings like their email address, personal details and password. Currently, the page is view-only, but we will soon be releasing functionality to edit certain aspects such as the password, first name and last name associated with the account. This feature will make it easier for users to manage their account settings and ensure that their personal information is up-to-date.
