Hurray, the new Record Builder is here! 🚀

This self-serve creation and management of core fields throughout the application improves user experience and turnaround times.

The functionality that we are releasing as part of this Phase 0 does not differ from the existing functionality: users will be able to instantly create bespoke fields with their chosen configuration and validations.

Any new fields will automatically be added to:

• reporting
• bulk ingest
• the API
• the front-end User Interface

Whilst functionality remains the same, the look and feel of the user interface is brand new:

One important thing to note is we have changed the location of Record Builder. It now lives within Preferences, as you can see in the video above.

How does it work?

Getting started

Head to Fabric Preferences and click on Record Builder. You will see a dropdown displaying the tabs that you can add custom metadata fields to: Regional and IDs.

If you expand either of those items, you will see the different sections available, for example Titles and Descriptions (which are sections within the Regional tab).

Once you have got to your destination, you will see all the available fields. You can enable and/or disable these, as well as create new fields with the configuration and validations that you require.

Core functionality

• Enable or disable existing fields to display or hide them from the application User Interface (don’t worry, if you re-enable them, the data reappears!)
  • Tip: these fields have a label next to them indicating they are Default fields.
